Question

"Find" returns nothing in Bridge

Like nothing at all in certain folders . While does work in other folders. I couldn't figure out a pattern. It started not in current version but actually at some point before. I tried "show items from sub folders" and it doesn't change a thing.
Crl +F had been best and only feature I always used Bridge for and now it turns useless. If somebody could tell that old version where it worked just fine and where to download it I would be greatly appreciative

Hi @kirkr5689 ,

Thanks for your feedback. Could you share the following details about the issue:

System configuration
Is the issue specific to particular files/format?
Is there any pattern related to location of folder like it is happening for any network, shared or external drive folder?
Is your main issue around files not shown after selecting option "Show items from subfolder" or the file visible but not able to search using ctrl+F?
Is the issue is prominent on a folder where its happening or its intermittent on the same folder as well?
Please share the video of the issue at sharewithbr@adobe.com

Thanks,
Bridge Team

Somehow the find works on files I have created myself but ones it's  files  from other co-workers  "find" doesn't find anything.  The files are accessible to write upon.     I somehow  found a workaround by re-writing  creation date  in the files. After that it's working as usual.

Have you explored the various locations for searching in Bridge? Check out the dropdown menu to the right of the search field.

I'm on a Mac, and the background search tool is called Spotlight. I'm going to assume that there is something very similar on a PC.

Please let us know if this helps.

I know it will not be of any comfort, but I found that too.

I found that compacting/purging cache usually does the trick for a reason I cannot understand...

The CTRL+F works for me everytime, but the basic search don't (the one you summon from the top right bar)

I don't know if it's a bug or anything, but these days I don't use the basic search anymore.

Thanks  for the tip.   I installed Bridge CS5  and it's same there so my guess it's something on Windows side  rather than Adobe.   Other file managers do it just fine although.
