Force Quitting on one Folder

Bridge 2023, v. 13.0.3, on Mac desktop with Ventura and M1 chip.  Bridge freezes when I open a folder labeled Portrait Various.  The folder opens, the icons populate and then the spinning beachball appears and I must force quit that folder.  It is only that one folder that appears buggy.  I now must get images from that folder outside of Bridge, that's my workaround. Any help from Adobe or others who have solved the problem?

Gary,

Decided to forgo the onerous testing.  Folder works fine on a laptop with Ventura.  Thanks again for your suggestions.

Two things to consider and try:

1) did you give permission to Bridge to access that folder?

If not, check this:

This sounds like you've not given Bridge permission for Apple's protection. Simply, this is an Apple protection issue, not Adobe's issue.

Go into the System Preferences and select the Privacy & Security tab on the left. Note that there are two options on the right you'll need to deal with: "Files and Folders," and "Full Disk Access."

First, going into Files and Folders, note that in various years of different releases of Adobe Bridge, different needs are needed. I do not know why this is, but it's always better to check and make sure that just because you did it for one release, you may or may not need it for a subsequent release.

Lastly, go into the Full Disk Access option. If you do not see your application in the list, click on the "+" symbol at the very bottom of the window. This will bring up a standard Finder window. Navigate to your Applications Folder, find Adobe Bridge, and add it to the list (You will need to add your Administrator's password to do this.). Then you can "switch" it to the "ON" position.

This should solve your problem.

Please let us know if that works or not.

If that doesn't work, then try Purging the cache for that folder.

Go to the Tools (menu) -> Purge -> Purge cache for (X) folder"

Let us know if either help (and which one please)

Thanks Gary.  The cache clearing seemed to have worked.  The first suggestion had no effect.

Many thank.

Spoke to soon.  It looked as though it worked but after I wrote my note to you and went back to Bridge, the spinning ball was there again.  Time to force quit and move on with my workaround.

One added piece of information; when I moved the folder to a Ventura M1 chip laptop, the folder opened and did NOT crash after the icons had loaded.
