Question

How to convert to JPG

I recently recovered a large lot of files that had been inadvertently deleted. Most of them came back like this:

What is it, and how do I convert it to JPG?  This is new to me. Please be gentle - I'm not a tech expert. Or point me in the right direction if this isn't the place to ask. Thank you!!

Thanks for any help you can offer.

It's not 100% clear in your image, but is there a dot between the filename and JPG? It looks like there is but, if not, insert one!

What, if anything, happens when you try to open these files (in Photoshop perhaps)?

Also how did you recover the deleted files and from where?

Thanks for responding. It did not have a dot. I added it and tried to open in Photoshop. I got this message:

"Could not complete your request because a JPEG marker segment length is too short (the file may be truncated or incomplete.)"

I'm sorry I don't remember exactly what I used, but I found this app on my laptop - StellarDataRecoveryPremium. As I recall, there were two programs. I think I had some advice from a local computer tech. Some of the photos came back normally but many more came back like this.  Any advice? Thanks.

I'm afraid it does look like the files have become corrupted or only partially recoverable.

I take it you don't have a backup! Lesson to learn there.

I don't think I can help further. Perhaps wiser folk may chip in.
