Question

How to set preferred association to "None" to stop Photoshop opening

The only option appears to be “browse” to select another program. When I click on a photo, it opens the selected version of Photoshop.

Wait, I just thought of something. Once you gone into the thumbnails, you can use your arrow keys to move from one image to the next.

    Good luck!

Hi Gary :-) I don’t use Apple...I just wonder if it is possible to set preference to “None”, which is the default for many file types. Just annoying when PS opens due to clicking :-(

You do not say if you are on a Mac or PC, but every OS provides someway to control the double-click speed. Look in your system for mouse controls or button controls. Play with the settings to control how your double-click is being interpreted by the OS. This is a mouse/OS issue, not a Bridge issue. There is no way for Bridge to know what you mean by a double-click that isn’t a double-click. But you can adjust the controls so that a double-click is not perceived to be a double-click.

    Sorry

Hi, @Andrew5E8A, I’m unaware of ANY software that can recognize a double-click that was supposed to have been a single-click. One option you might try is going into your system software (or the software that came with your thirdparty mouse) and change the speed that a double-click is recognized. I have mine set to a pretty fast double-click myself, so I know it can be done.

Oh, one other option: I’m right handed, and I just checked, if I click left-handed, I do that more slowly. Kinda strange option I know, but there’s nothing within Bridge to change how a double- or single- click is registered.

Please let me know what you come up with, thanks!

Hi, @Andrew5E8A, just to be clear, are you double- or single-clicking on an image. I should require a double-click to open the image in PS.

Normally, a single click should just make the file active so you can see it in the Preview Panel.

To verify, what kind of files are these, jpg? gif? raw?

Also, is your Preview Panel showing in this Workspace? Oh, and which Workspace are you using?

I’m trying to stop PS opening on an accidental double click :-) I’m in “Essentials” Workspace & filtered on date & RAW (.ORF at present). Preview showing. Just trying to set preference to “None”.
