Question

how to speed up 100% full frame viewing for quicker editing?

I edit my Sony RX 10 IV 20mp ARW ==> DNG images in CS6 Bridge
by pressing space bar ==> full frame, left click ==> ?100%? to check for
camera shake, focus, etc.  Left click give full frame 100% portion...
(note: I use Photoshop 2022-3 $9.99/mo but old Bridge for familiarity)

It takes 15-30 sec per image to finally get an unpixelated 100% image using:

Thinkpad P40 Yoga Signature Edition
Device name        DESKTOP-FITKV5V
Processor             Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6600U CPU @ 2.60GHz   2.81 GHz
Installed RAM     16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)
System type         64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Edition   Windows 10 Home
Version  21H2
Installed on          ‎2/‎3/‎2021
OS build 19044.2364
Experience           Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0

I would like to reduce the 15-30 seconds per image down to ?5? sec or less;
because I edit 2K+ travel images monthly – is it possible??
I want to stick to laptop, not desktop or Apple;
Can I do it by upgrading current laptop or need new laptop?
Any advice appreciated, thanks in advance, regards.
(when responding, keep in mind I am NOT tech savvy)

Moved to the Bridge forum, from the Photoshop forum.

Bridge is pretty slow for this, unless you set it to build 100% previews of all the relevant folders in advance and make sure the Bridge cache is big enough to hold it all.

I always use Lightroom for this. Not instant either, but a lot faster than Bridge.

Thumbnail and preview generation is Bridge's achilles heel. With a big archive it's very slow. If you ask me, this should be the #1 target for Bridge development in the future.

Thanks for response.

If possible, please dumb down how to build 100% previews in advance.

My laptop has 188gb space free & my daily # of images = 150-300.

After completing a day's worth of 100% previews, how to delete previews?

Thanks in advance.
