How to turn off Color Syncing across apps?

I found plenty of articles explaining how to turn ON color sycning, but no information on how to turn it off. Every time export a PDF from a book file in InDesign, I get an error message about color profiles. I'd like to simply turn off the color syncing. Any ideas how?

What is the error message that InDesign says?

Just guessing, but chances are a profile warning on export probably has to do with a profile (or lack of one) in an image in the InDesign file versus the specific PDF standard selected for export. But we’d have to see the error to know for sure.

The Color Settings in each application are defaults, but they’re overridden by the actual color content in documents. In other words, the error probably won’t be solved by turning off color syncing across apps, but by figuring out what is happening in the InDesign document. You can start to look at this before export by using the Preflight feature in InDesign; if it’s set up right should be able to detect the same error in advance.

By the way, you can un-synchronize color settings just by choosing the Color Settings command in any of the involved applications and changing the settings. As soon as those settings no longer match what was set in Bridge, it’s obviously no longer synchronized with everything else. But again, I doubt that’s going to affect the error you’re getting.

Because a color profile error on PDF export is probably tied to the document content vs PDF export color settings in the specific InDesign document, you might get a better answer by asking in the InDesign community.

You cannot turn it off.

You have some kind of prfoile mismatch in ID you need to fix.
