Illustrator files won't open in new Bridge- not a file type issue!

Since updating to Catalina clicking on an illustrator file will not open it nor can I drag an illustrator file into a folder. Other files will open like folders or jpegs. My file type preferences are set to open in illustrator so its not that. I've also updated my Bridge and Illustrator software. I can open files through Finder.

Using a Mac book pro and a Wacom tablet.
