Question

Keep content panel in focus permanently, even when clicking somewhere else

While I am keywording I like to quickly go through my images using the arrow keys with my left hand while clicking on the applicable keywords with my right hand on my mouse.

The problem is: After each time clicking on Keywords I have to move the mouse over to the conent panel and click on an image there before I can again use the arrow keys to continue navigating to the next images. This is because clicking on a keywords brings that panel into focus.

This might sound like a small thing, but if you're doing this all day it gets really annoying.

Is there any way to keep the content panel permanantly in focus so that I can keep navigating with the arrow keys regardles of where else I click?

In a word, no. If you move the focus to some other location (whether it's a different Panel in Bridge or a different application, the focus is set/changed. To change what's in focus, you need to click on the item you want to be in focus.

One possible solution might be to either Shift-click or Command/Control-click a number of images and then assign the same keywords to that set of images. Additionally, you might want to use a combination of ratings and/or labels to plan out what images get what keywords. That way you can do a search for a given set of Ratings & Labels and then select all, give them their keyword(s), and then find the next set of images for keywording.

Good luck!

Thanks for confirming! I could swear that this used to be different in older versions of Bridge...

Unfortunately, for my specific situation in this case, the workarounds you suggested don't really work. But it is what it is, I guess.
