I have used the Keywords metadata to enter paragraphs of details on each of many images, the details are unique to each image. Probably not the right way to use it, but a lot of valuable work already done. I work with people who do not have Bridge and I want to share these images with them, along with their embedded keywords. In windows explorer the keywords can be read in the Tags column, BUT only up to a certain number of characters, then the rest of the kewords data are lost.

Can anyone suggest a means by which I could get this data out of Bridge and into a metadata format that could be accessed by anyone using a Windows or Mac computer?

    Hi Snoopy,

    To be sure, you are indeed getting your data out of Bridge and into the metadata of the images. The problem lies squarely with the clunky interface of Windows Explorer for viewing metadata. If you want your colleagues to be able to see the full metadata, they'll need to use something other than Windows Explorer.

    Sorry I can't recommend anything (I use Bridge, too!) but there are a number of tools out there. Perhaps someone will come along here and recommend one.

      Thank you Michael, that's reassuring news.

      As an alternative approach, is it possible to export all the keywords relating to specific files as a CSV or similar? I have been able to use the export command on the Keywords panel drop down menu to export the entire Keywords tree for every keyword existing on the system. However I have not found a way of producing a similar CSV export, but which lists individual files with their individual keywords.

      Any ideas?

      There is a script in the Bridge section "Extract Metadata" @http://www.ps-bridge-scripts.talktalk.net/

      That should do what you want.
