Question

Keywork search on dropbox folder works on one computer, but not the other

My work and home computers both access a folder in my main Dropbox folder called "camera-import."

  • - At work, I can use keyword search within this folder with no problems.
  • - At home, the same keyword search finds nothing.
    • If I go up one level into the main Dropbox folder, the keyword search works if I check 'include all subfolders.' This doesn't help me, because I only want to find the files within that one folder, not all of Dropbox. I'm running Bridge 13.0.3.693 on both computers.
    • I have rebuilt the folder cache.

Other suggestions?

Sadly, any work using any Cloud service with Bridge is going to be iffy. This is because Bridge was designed to work with local hard drives and the host computer. The fact that it's working with one computer is good.

Meanwhile, the only other thing I can think of for you to check is to make sure that you're searching in the right area. Please check if you are searching with the correct tool and region here:

Thank you for that. The keyword search works on both computers, just not from inside that specific folder. I'm wondering if there is a folder specific file being written, invisible or not, specific to the computer, that could be trashed and rebuilt on the home computer.

I do not know for sure about that. Again, this is very probably the issue that the folder is linked to a cloud service, and Bridge's linkage to these is sketchy.

Are you on a PC or a Mac?
