Looking for scripting hints

Hi, I am fairly new to Bridge scripting and look for some pointers

a) can I hide specific files from the images panel (specifically backup files named like original-001.ai)

b) is it possible to call a script when a file is deleted or moved (by dragging to a folder or via the move dialogue). The intention is to delete said backup files on a delete or to offer to move or delete them when the original is moved
