missing compact mode

Just subscribed to Adobe CC on new laptop. A Bridge feature I use constantly in my work is the compact mode. This feature is now gone. The workaround is clumsy and inefficient, to say the least. I find online only that it is gone but no explanation other than 'it cannot be used in other Adobe CC apps' or something to that affect. Is there a rational explanation and an efficient alternative? I've returned to my old laptop just so I can finish two projects with fierce interplay between InDesign and Bridge. Please restore this invaluable feature! Thanks for any advice.

Make sure you save your workspace so they open up correctly for you.

That's a real bummer! It was such an assential feature since I drag images to applications all the time. It is the whole point of using bridge. What is our alternative now?

From the File menu, you can "Place" an image into any Adobe application you have.

Or, just manually make the Bridge window smaller and drag from there. You can create a new Workspace where Bridge is small with just the Panels you want/need.

And for the record, I also miss Mini Bridge, but Flash is gone and therefore Mini Bridge is gone. We just have to accept that. Sorry

Sorry to tell you this but Compact Mode (aka Mini Bridge) is long gone. It was built on Flash Technology and I hate to tell you this but that's gone as well.

Sorry about that.

Okay. The first time, I tried reducing Bridge and overlapping it with InDesign. Clumsy and unworkable. This time I reduced both programs -- gave Bridge 1/4 screen space, InDesign 3/4 screen space -- and it works quite nicely. It takes some manual configuring, nothing like just clicking on an icon!, but workable. Knowing the brilliant Compact Mode is long gone-gone-gone, me and my software are adjusting ...
