MP4 thumbnails from my Sony Video Camera not working

MP4s from my go pro have thumbnails and work fine, but those from my Sony video Camera only show an icon.  I've tried setting associations in preference and purging cache - no luck....suggestions?

I think I have my question backwards - it's the GoPro footage that is not showing thumbnails....either way, both are MP4, how do I fix?
