Multiple windows open when launching Bridge

When I launch Bridge, it opens multiple windows of it. I can work somewhat in Bridge but if I try to put information on the image it will crash. I am using Bridge CS 5.1 and my Mac system is OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. How can I fix this?

    Bridge CS5 is an old version of Adobe Bridge. You can download Bridge CC 2017 from creative cloud desktop app for free.

    Sounds like you might have multiple synchronized windows open or new windows open.

    Did you try closing all the windows except for one by pressing the Red close button on each window and then restarting bridge?
