Question

New Update = New Problems. Again.

Just got the update the other day and now I'm back to ship performance from Bridge. A whole long series of keywording vanishes when Bridge quits for no reason. Absolutely pathetic that this is a standard software.

Hi,
Thanks for your feedback.

Can you please explain the scenario/problem in more detail, so that we can try and reproduce this problem at our end?
Also, could you share the following details as well:

  • Bridge version
  • System configuration
  • Is the issue specific to particular files/format?

Thanks,
Bridge Team

OSX Catalina, latest. Latest Bridge update as of that date (I've since backed up one version and things are working better).

It happens with image files, every single image file.

I shoot with a Leica M10, a Q2 and a Hasselblad X1D. I never open the Hasselblad 3FR files via Bridge or Camera Raw, I use Phocus for those and export single layer tiffs for further processing via ACR/PS. The 1/27/21 update I did caused Bridge to load previews of a folder of 176 M10 DNG files over the course of about a half an hour.

A half an hour. I have adjusted all the settings to allow Bridge access to everything on my computer, set all the settings for preview size and cache and etc. etc. as instructed, but nearly every single update requires either me to troubleshoot for days or just back up to the only recent version that works.

Every Adobe Update is like Russian Roulete to my workflow.

The decades of keywording that vanished upon one update about two years ago never to be recovered was bad enough, the persistent difficulty of keeping my CC suite functioning is just a bonus frustration.
