Not possible to download pictures from canon eos 7D to the laptop

When I connect my camera, Canon Eos 7D thepictures can not be down loaded from the camera. I have a Cable and the camera is found by Bridge. Do I need to reinstall Bridge?

I have the 7Dm2, I have no issues but I (almost) never download directly from the camera. I did once to test it (no issue). Otherwise I always use a card reader. 

 

How are you doing the downloading? Are you using the built in Photo Downloader? Dragging images from camera to computer?

More info? What operating system and version of Bridge? Is there an error message? Can you copy the photos using the built-in computer tools?
