Opening files in Illustrator with Double-click

Installed Bridge 13.0.1.583 to fix all the navigation issues that Adobe introduced into Bridge with the last major release.  That worked, but now the simple task of double-clicking a vector file (tested with .ai or .eps) fails to actually open Illustrator to work on the file.

I have to manually open Illustrator then drag the file to open it.

I swear I spend more time adjusting my workflows and having to report / monitor issues online than it takes to just work.

Please fix.  And please get it together.  The conitnual breaking of normal features to fix something is beyond frustrating.
