Question

P: Bridge 13 Start file remains selected after exit from full screen/slide show.

Today I installed the new Adobe Bridge 2023 release (13.0.0.562).

When previewing an image full screen (by tapping the spacebar), when I hit the spacebar again to close the full screen image, the preview window displays two instances of the same image. If you repeat this, a third appears, and so on. This must be a bug.

Hello,

Could you please update to Bridge 13.0.1 which has fixes for many of the common issues reported in this and other forum threads and confirm if that fixes the issues you are facing?

Thanks,

Bridge Team

Thank you for updating. The problems seem to be solved.

Maybe it is possible for you to change the white menubar and scrollbars to the same gray color as Photoshop's?

Just now, Bridge content tab was showing me two instances of every file in a certain folder.

Going to a different folder corrected it, and returning to the previous folder again, it was back to normal.

Just a glitch in the matrix, obviously, but it might confirm that there's something going on here.

For me the problem is when you full screen the selected image and then browse using left / right arrows and hit spacebar again, the initial document and the last one, both get selected.  Makes it very difficult to delete images you don't want, since you will accidently delete images you do want.  Please fix!

Same problem here. Adobe should really fix this as soon as possible. It's a source of deleting images which you did not plan to delete. That's serious!

I'm having the same problem on both a Windows 11 HP desktop and a Dell laptop. It makes culling images very difficult.

Please fix ASAP

I find the preview function very buggy with flashing pictures. And then the interface of Bridge 13, very ugly indeed. Adobe please revert back to Bridge 12 interface.

BTW, the labeling system is also buggy. The colors don't show up when pressing the button. When going back to the thumbnails, the label is there but not in fullscreen at first.

For me, after previewing an image full screen (by tapping the spacebar), when I hit the spacebar again to close the full screen image, the preview window displays two different images. I have then to select from which image I want to proceed the previewing. This did not happen in previous versions of Bridge and it is now very annoying to go through the images...

Hi @aneg25748688

Thanks for reporting the issue, we are investigating the same. The issue is specific to detail / list view, to workaround the issue you can switch to thumbnail / grid lock view.

Thanks for investigating and for your workaround suggestion. The problem also affects the thumbnail / grid lock view in that when you full screen the selected image and then browse using left / right arrows and hit spacebar again, the initial document and the last one, both get selected.

I just uninstalled it, waaaaay slower (while browsing 20598 images) old version was snappier within the same folder. grid lock does not work as in version 12, instead of scrolling one full picture at a time, now it shows a partial image, so I have to do more than 1 scroll to see the full image.

In the meantime, went back to version 12

Responsiveness in Bridge is mostly dependent on a fully loaded cache, which takes some time.

While there are other things I don't like with this update (ugly interface mostly), speed isn't really one of them.

Yeh, so I decided to try a smaller folder (200) deleted old cache, and let it build again, and was still facing the same issue. Went back to 12 and all is smooth

I also just installed it, and spacebar > full screen behaves normally here. I think this function is GPU-dependent, so it could be a driver bug. If you post System Info from Photoshop, maybe we can spot something.

Not that I didn't have my own problems with this Bridge update. This time, the previous version is not automatically removed, so maybe that's why. When asking to import prefs and settings on first launch, to wich I clicked no (I always like to build fresh preferences) - I got an error message and the application just quit. Had to uninstall and reinstall twice, but finally managed to get it to stick

(and while I'm at it, I'm not to keen on the newish interface. Feels a little too much like Windows 2000).
