Performance issues with Bridge on macOS - Miss the old bridge

This Bridge seems to take ages viewing images and pdfs...... I have to continually 

Command+Option+Shift so then it will start working again. Now finding it easier to view as icons in my finder instead. I never had this problem with the previous Bridge? This is becoming a program that I can't really use. Is there something else I can do in my preferences or something to make this program work?
