Permission problems in Bridge

I am using the latest version of Bridge and OS.  In finder, I can confirm read/write access to all my main OS folders: dropbox, desktop, documents, downloads, pictures, etc.  When in Bridge, when accessing all but the dropbox folder, I get the message "the operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient permissions".  This became a problem about a month ago and is causing me grief processing pics.  A search for similar problems goes back many years ago.  I have tried deleting com.adobe.bridge5.plist in library preferences but it makes no difference.

Please, I really need some help.
