Photo Downloader Showing Funky Previews in EOS Digital#1 Files

Has anyone experienced this?

When I import images from my EOS R + SanDisk 256 Extreme Pro cards 170MB, I am getting strange previews in the EOS Digital#1 File - they appear corrupt (downloading fine) but when I open the Digital #2 files they appear fine/download fine.

+ I just updated to CC2023 (+mac OS Ventura 13.0) -

+ This has happened with two different cards (same Canon EOS R camera).

Any help would be appreciated!

yes- exact same thing!!! digital #1 appears corrupt and only shows a handful of images. but if you go to digital #2 in photo downlaoder then all files are there and appear normal.
