Photo Teacher has a Mystery [Metadata not showing Exposure Mode which is a class requirement]

Normal-With Exposure mode showing

So normally in the bridge on the metadata tab I can see (under Camera Data), what exposure mode a student shot in (Auto, Program etc.) but for one student it is missing. See below. Why could that be? The students are required to shoot in manual, or one of the priority modes. So I don't want to accuse him of changing the metadata...plus I don't' think he'd know how. But how can this be missing? Can anyone help??

missing the first 3 items.

THANK YOU! I didn't even catch that. Never heard of that software.

    Thanks!

Your student may be using dcraw in a CLI environment or using a GUI or other “front end” software that makes use of dcraw under the hood.

Depending on which, it may or may not be easy to add in the missing metadata options (if available).

Have him try a different RAW processor besides dcraw which may not write that data into the JPEG.
