Photoshop cannot be found on root drive Error.

Last year there was a discussion on installing CC which could only go on root drive, others can be installed on another drive.  I have found that when Bridge and Photoshop are installed on a different drive,  opening files in bridge give a fault message that 'Photoshop cannot be found on the root drive'.  Is there a simple fix for this problem or does one have to live with this problem and open all files using Ctrl R and the close them into Photoshop.

Not a good way of working for a high tech application.
