Photoshop won't open

I just updated ACR and Photoshop 24.4 and now I cannot open a file (TIFF, RAW, JPEG) from Bridge to Photoshop. The file will open to ACR and then when I click "open", nothing happens.

Windows 10

Hi Peace,

OK, you said, "Control-r" (as opposed to Command-r), therefor you're on a PC.

What I need you to do is to drag a raw image from Bridge onto the PS icon in the Dock. This will open in ACR (because it's a raw file). Please let me know if this will now open in PS if you click the Open button.

Meanwhile (or in addition to the above), if you see any file in Bridge that displays the resized and/or adjusted icons from ACR. See if double-clicking (or clicking the Open button) on any of those will open in PS.

I am a real estate photographer and my normal workflow is Bridge > select 4-5 TIFF images> Ctrl+R> ACR> perspective correction> open to Photoshop. Now I have to bypass ACR. I have rebooted twice.  Photoshop 24.4 / Bridge 13.0.3.

Hi Peace,

You state that you updated PS and ACR; did you update Bridge as well?

There are potentially two issues here: one referred to above, PS and Bridge have to be of the same "vintage" to work together. If you are using a different vintage of Bridge, they may not be able to work properly together.

The other issue is a semi-old bug that Adobe has fixed several times but seems to come back every once in a while. Here's one way to test if this is what's occurring for you is this: Take a raw image in Bridge and drag it onto the PS icon in the Dock (or Start thingy PC users have). This will force the image to open first in ACR. If it's this 2nd issue, when you click on "Open," it should open in PS. If it doesn't, it's probably the first issue.

So, please let us know if you updated Bridge, and if you didn't, what release is it? In general, even though you may not think it matters, always provide your OS (and what release) so that those of us who try and help know what they are dealing with. The vast majority of us here are volunteers who do not work for Adobe, and some of us, like me, just work in one OS.

Thank Gary. I updated Bridge 14 days ago to 13.03. There doesn't seem to be another update.  I can open from File> Open> Photoshop 24.4 but I cannot open from Control +R (through ACR). If I open from Ctrl +R, ACR will open but I cannot get to Photoshop.
