Question

Place in Photoshop [from Bridge] when zoomed in

I'm a bit frustrated by the Place in Photoshop command from Bridge: I often use this menu item to add exposure brackets from a set. If I am zoomed in at all in the master document, the place command seems to center the placed document wherever I am zoomed to, instead of just placing it aligned with the current document bounds. It's super annoying to remember to zoom out before using this command, or be forced to re-align the layer manually. Made worse by the fact that I usually have snapping turned off.

Is there an option somewhere such that, when a document is placed in photoshop (from Bridge, using the right-click menu and selecting place in photoshop) it will always be center-aligned (horizontally and vertically) with the document in which it is being placed?

Not a bug, just a time waster and wishing I didn't have to go through all these steps just to add an exposure bracket. Also, I do not want to open all my exposure brackets when i initially create the file as I often only use a few of them

Hi, @jahaik, I just tried this with a bunch of images, and I'm not seeing this now.

However, I've seen a number of "non-alignment" issues with a bunch of Adobe applications over the past half year. For example, when I wake up my computer, I'll find any Adobe application window I have open halfway down my screen (even if there's a document open or not). When I run "Save for Web" from PS, the final Finder window to place the result will always open in the bottom left corner. Investigations on the web show that I'm not the only one having these strange placement issues.

It has been reported to Adobe, not sure if and/or when they might be able to do something about it.

Sorry

I also have the problem with the windows re-arranging after sleep, but that's more an issue with the interface windows. I can't say for sure how long I've had this issue but it seems fairly recent. I recorded a video to show what I mean:

first place operation is zoomed in, doesn't align. second one is fit to view, aligns just fine

Hi, @jahaik, I may or may not have seen that. (Often, I'm so focused on what I'm working on that I miss the obvious (LOL)). But I'll keep my eye looking for this.

BTW, I see you're on a Mac; I'm using a Mac Studio Pro, 13.1. Please pass on what you're using and what release version so that we can see if there's anything hardware/software related to this.
