Preview for 4k footage created with GoPro Hero 8 does not render (2.7k footage works)

As many other people here I have troubles getting the media preview fully work in Adobe Bridge. I have tried various things like resetting the preferences. I also have the latest Adobe Bridge version installed.

I rather suspect that it's not working because of a bad configuration or insufficient hardware, missing driver etc. Rather than throwing money onto the issue by buying new hardware, I have the hope that someone can provide insights, guidance. Afterall I am just getting started with professional video editing and there is so much to consider, that makes debugging more difficult. Thus I think I got quite far already. Anyway, I appreciate any help.

I got:

  • 1 NVM SSD for OS & Apps
  • 1 NVM SSD for on going projects
  • 1 HDD for finished projects and footage-archive. I plan to improve it later on. Once I know that I regulary cut videos.
  • i12900k
  • 64GB RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
  • Windows 11 (most recent available version for me - Windows 11, version 22H2)

And in my settings I have those settings:

  • [X] Video: Preview Video on Mouse Over
  • [   ] Prefer Thumbnail Generation Over Preview Generation
  • [   ] Use Software Rendering
  • [X] Stack Playback Frame Rate Per Second (60)

In addition I have bought:

Here are some further details. Also about what is working:

  • Working
    • Footage from my Google Pixel 5 (mp4) (downloaded one example video)
    • Playing the below mentioned GoPro Hero 8 4k/60FPS footage via media player. I can also view and edit it in Premiere Pro and After Effects. What I also can do is double click on the footage in Bridge and then a different player will open. My current pretty uncool workaround.
    • GoPro Hero 8 2.7k/60FPS (mp4)
      • Lens: SuperView
      • HyperSmooth: On
      • Low Light: Off
      • Clips: Off
      • Protune Settings:
        • Bit Rate: Standard
        • Shutter: Auto
        • EV comp 0:
        • White Balance: Auto
        • ISO Min: 100
        • ISO Max: 1600
        • Sharpness: High
        • Color: GoPro
        • RAW Audio: Off
  • Not working
    • Moving the below mentioned 4k footage to an NVM SSD
    • GoPro Hero 8 4k/60FPS (mp4)
      • Lens: Wide
      • HyperSmooth: On
      • Low Light: N/A
      • Clips: Off
      • Protune settings:
        • Bit Rate: High
        • Shutter: Auto
        • EV comp: 0
        • White Balance: Auto
        • ISO Min: 100
        • ISO Max: 800
        • Sharpness: High
        • Color: GoPro
        • RAW Audio: Off

I have made some more recordings.

- 4k 30 FPS SuperView is working

- 4k 60 FPS Wide is NOT working

- 4k 60 FPS Linear is NOT working

Will do some more recordings in the coming days.

I have GoPro 8 and 11. I have active Thumbnails on everything I take with GoPro 8. Even matching setting to the GP8 on the GP11. I only see the VLC media player cone icon. I even use th esame SD card. I have read and tried all th efixes on the web to no avail. Maybe someone will respond with a fix?
