What is the maximum number of previews you can see as you select them in the Content window. The maximum I've been able to put up is 9, is there another configuration of the windows, or a workspace that works better to see more than 9 previews? Thank you

Yup, 9 it is. You can see more in Review mode (View (menu) -> Review Mode) (or Command/Control-b) but that's only one at a time.
Any more than 9 you might as well be looking at the Light Table Workspace and just increase the size of the thumbnails.
