Ps batch processing via Br menu problem

Ps 26.10.0

Br 1.2.737

I use Bridge all the time to do Batch processing via the Tools>Photoshop> Batch menu.

After working great all day it has suddenly quit being able to do so and I get the following error - 

Error: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop.

I used Time Machine to revert to earlier versions of Ps and Br (this morning, which have been working with), but still I get the error ! I also tried updarting Ps via Creative Cloud. Still same error. It's the first time it's occurred.

The Batch works from Ps>File>Automate>Batch  so I know iit must be a bridge error?

Please help, I'm in the middle of a project.

p.s. I may have fixed it by resetting preferences. I will report back if the problem persists.
