RAW image thumbnails in Bridge are being altered.

When I display a folder of RAW images from my camera, the thumbnails are being brightened. I can see the original unaltered thumbnails for a second then Bridge brightens them quickly all as I watch. Is some sort of profile being applied? Is this from a change in colorspace? I’d like to see the RAWs just as they are. I couldn't find any setting in preferences that would do this. Thanks in advance.

Thumbnails reflect your default settings. The flicker is when these are applied and the thumbnails and previews are built. Check what your defaults are in Camera Raw where you set defaults to zero adjustments.

Thanks Erik. I did have a camera RAW custom profile (for my most used camera) set that I thought only applied once camera raw was active. Why would Bridge apply it to every thumbnail regardless of what camera was used? This is wrong. I’ve reset it to ‘camera settings’. Now I can engage the profile manually to the appropriate files. Is this correct?

Look in Camera Raw Preferences > Defaults. If you require different default settings for different cameras, check the box “Override global setting for specific cameras” You can then go ahead and create defaults for individual cameras if you wish. You do that by creating a preset in Camera Raw with your required settings and choosing that preset as the default for that camera.
