Hi,

is it possible to write a script which prevents a file name text field become active when user clicks thumbnail's file name in Bridge's content pane? In this way, user couldn't rename files accidently when managing files with Bridge. Text field should become active when some key, like F2, is pressed and then file can be renamed.

Please help me out, example script would be nice :)

As far as I know renaming file in subfolders can only be done in Bridge CS3.

While in the top level folder click on the folder icon in the view panel to view all files in that folder as well as any subfolders. Then select all and batch rename.

Is there a way to batch rename files in nested folders? I've seen batch rename used on the contents of a single folder. But want to rename all files with all folders within a job folder. To append a job number.

I think the user can still edit them but just not save over the top, not sure...

Locking images by setting the "Read Only" attribute to files isn't very useful in our workflow because users need to edit images, add keywords etc. Only the file name should be able to be "locked", but editable if user wants to edit it.

Any hints?

You can lock your images by setting the "Read Only" attribute (right-click on the image in Windows Explorer and select read-only). This will then show a padlock sign next to the images in Bridge. In this case you will not be able to change the name, rating or label for this image.

Note that you will still be able to open the image in ACR and then in Photoshop where you can edit it and save it under another name.

I would like to do this also... write a script so you cannot rename the file... this would helo me as I am in the process of creating an image library and need to have some sort of security with the images
