renaming in bridge 2019 is a disaster

My photos should be renamed to AJCL - 20181004-0003.cr2 etc. This happend:  . AdobeBridgeBatchRenameTemp1AJCL - 20181004-0003 .  AdobeBridgeBatchRenameTemp2AJCL - 20181004-0004 AdobeBridgeBatchRenameTemp3AJCL - 20181004-0005. The xmp files were mixed e.g. I see in bridge a picture of a seagull and when i go to the raw converter it shows there a picture of a boat. (and that should be correct. But when I go back to bridge it still shows a seagull in stead of a boat. It is all mixed up. Total disaster. Is there a solution or should I go back to bridge 2018 and wait for an update?

    Hi chulainn,

Please reset Bridge preferences by following the steps below.

    • Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears.

    • Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.

Well, I did and that did not work.

But..... I deleted all the .xmp files in that map and the problem was solfed!!!

The names are now correct and all the time settings are correct now too!!

After working on a wedding and putting them into a running order I batch renamed 400 images on CC19. To my horror the renamed CR2 files lost all the raw alterations and lables. It hadn't renamed the xmp files at the same time. Because they were reordered I had to sit for 6 hrs, copying and pasting the new file names to the old xmp files using the thubs in the cache as a reference. This never happened in any older version of Bridge.

We need a lot more information about what you did to get to this point.

Well a lot of my photos were to AdobeBridgeBatchRenameTemp1AJCL - 20181004-0003 .  AdobeBridgeBatchRenameTemp2AJCL - 20181004-0004 AdobeBridgeBatchRenameTemp3AJCL - 20181004-0005, AdobeBridgeBatchRenameTemp003AJCL - 20181004-0105. etc. Some photos were correct renamed to AJCL - 20181004-0123. CR2 etc. A lot of xmp files were mixed e.g. I see in bridge a picture of a seagull and when I go to the raw converter it shows a picture of a boat. (and that should be correct image. But when I go back to bridge it still shows a seagull in stead of a boat. The photo of that seagull is also there with another serial number. It is all mixed up. Sync of the map did not help at all. Total disaster.
