'Select All' feature vanished in Camera Raw 17.3.1

PLEASE NOTE I HAVE RESOLVED THIS QUERY BUT I CAN'T DELETE THE POST. I closed everything & re-opened it, & 'select all' re-appeared when I hover over the place where it used to be.
I've just opened some Raw images for editing from Bridge into Camera Raw, but it seems to have migrated to version 17.3.1 & several settings essential to my workflow are missing from the main interface. In particular the 'Select all' option which was at the top right corner of the thumbnail panel. I searched around & found that it seems to be hidden in a tiny 'filmstrip' icon at the bottom of the screen. It's hard to select anything here as the list vanishes when you take your finger off the 'select' corner or the trackpad, but when I did manage to try & click on 'select all' it just went grey & became disabled, but the images were still not selected. It is now totally disabled and I can't use it at all. PLEASE can someone tell me how to stop this idiocy, and get this feature back where it was, so I can actually use it? Why on earth does Adobe think it's helpful to hide features and make it really difficult to use them?!

  • Paste: Cmd/Ctrl + V
  • Select All: Cmd/Ctrl + A
  • Deselect All: Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + A
  • New: Cmd/Ctrl + N

Hope that helps.
