Sharing the cache

I have Adobe Bridge 2020 on both a PC and a laptop using Windows 10. I only use one machine at a time.

All my images are on a 1tb external drive.

From Bridge on my PC I relocated the cache to a folder on the external drive to save computer space. This set up works fine but if I attach the external drive to my laptop and open Bridge I want to be able to access the cache on the external drive but don't seem to be able to do it. 

Can anyone help please.

Are your preferences setup the same way

 

Is "automaticly import cache selected folders" on both computers?

Yes both computers are set up the same and automaticly import cache selected folders is also selected.
