There was an error writing metada to "Honey 2.jpg"

Honey 2 is my file name.

Windows 8.1

Bridge 8.1.0.383

Saving file onto a portable SSD

I am having a similar issue and recieving the same "There was an error writing metadata to "xxxxxxxxx.jpg". I am on the 12.0.2.252 version of Bridge. Any quick fixes? Thanks!

What operating system and where are these files located? Can you make changes in other apps?

I am having the same issue - but in windows 10.  The error began when I installed the latest version of Bridge.  And while I can edit metadata in the latest version, it doesn't have a way to batch add file names to the title, so I have to use Bridge 8.1.0 for renming and adding the file name to the metadata title and then go into the new Bridge to do metadata.  It is very frustrating.

Are you talking about adding the filename to the XMP title field?

Also be aware that Windows 8 support has expired and Bridge 8 is no longer available for download. You may want to be looking at upgrading your computer soon.

R-click the file in your file manager.

Check under properties, security

See if the file allows you full access.

You can also try renaming it.
