Question

Tools > Photoshop > Load Files or Image Processor suddenly not working

Literally just started today.  This is part of my workflow and this is a tremendous pain.  There are no available updates so spare me that abdication of responsibility.

Anything under the Tools > Photoshop dropdown menu from bridge does nothing.  Photoshop doesn't react.  I can run Image Processor from within photoshop, and it does indeed run fine.

Truly sad that Adobe invests absolutely nothing in actually helping to solve issues that arise in its software.  One unhelpful response followed by an eternity of silence seems to be their status quo to all reported problems.

Since clearly Adobe has no staff who actually provide any helpful solutions, I'll mention my own.

I rolled back to the previous version of Photoshop (previous update, that is) - 23.2.1, so I can only assume that 23.2.2 was causing an issue with action scripts from Bridge/Lightroom to PS.

Hi Philippen,

The scripts in the Tools menu are not installed when installing Bridge, but rather by the application they command. Therefore, all of the processes directed to Photoshop are installed by Photoshop. One way to not see these tools is to install Photoshop BEFORE installing Bridge.

I mention that just to give you some background.

One quick thing you can try is to rebuild Bridge's Preferences, here is how:

First, quit Bridge (if open). Then, when launching Bridge, press Command-Option (Mac)/Control-Alt (Win) + Shift to choose “Reset Preferences”, Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache”, and/or Reset Standard Workspaces.” In your case, chose "Reset Preferences."

If that doesn't work, you might have to uninstall PS, then reinstall. (That's why I did the explanation at the top.)

Let us know if this is still not fixing things.

Yeah, neither worked.  I did just reinstall photoshop.  PS. for days now, this is how photoshop is opening (no Open, Open Recent, none of those little modal tutorials - just a blank screen).

Also wanted to mention, when I simply hit Enter with files selected in Bridge, they do open in Photoshop in Camera Raw as expected.  However, all of the Image Processor, Load Files into Layers, Merge to HDR Pro, etc do not work, although they do still work when opened from within Photoshop.

My problem, however, is that  I'm working here, and I have dozens of images to composite per day, so I rely on these functions from bridge to expedite my workflow.
