Unable to open file in bridge

I am using Photoshop Cs6. I recently downloaded new raw photos and tried to open them. A window appears saying Photoshop cannot open this file, make sure you have the latest updates installed. When I attempt to download latest update thru HELP it indicates that it is searching for updates but never connects, even after an hour or more. Anyone have any ideas?

What camera do you have? Newer cameras will not be supported with CS6. You'll need to either convert to DNG or upgrade to Photoshop CC.
