Unable to search for keywords on networked folder using Bridge

I'm using Bridge on the mac and pc (networked drive) and find both are unable to accurately find keywords, often finding nothing when there are multiple files available. Is there a fix for this?

If Bridge doesn't do what it should, what is the best solution for a small team, using a shared network drive?
