Use Bridge to select (star) photos to then import into Lighroom

Self-help videos describe being able to use Bridge to rate RAW images, and start those I want to edit (in Lightroom Classic). However Bridge is moving them all over, starred and unstarred.

I star them to ID the subset I want to edit.

I apply the filter to show only those images that are starred.

I select (SHIFT + A) all the images, and drag them into Lightroom.

After every attempt, however, every photo in the original group - starrred and unstarred - is moved over into Lightroom defeating my purpose.

Can anyone help? Perhaps this is with the Beta version?

Is there ANY reason why you do not import the entire set of images into LRC directly and do all of your "Keep&Toss in LRC. It will save you a lot of time, confusion, and energy.

The ONLY thing worth mentioning is that when you are ready to delete your image(s), a window will pop up in LRC asking if you want to remove the images from the Catalog, from the hard drive, or Cancel. If you know you never want to see those images again, select the middle option: hard drive.

imagine sport or documentary, you took about 2000 photos with the sony a1 (50mb per pic) and just need 20-50 photos, you dont want to copy round about 120GB of data just because you want to get 50*50MB=2,5GB. It takes ages and lots of space.

If you shoot sports/politics, you often need to get the pictures delivered as soon as possible and not wasting time with copying files.

Sorry. Meant to say I use CTRL + A to select all (those filtered based on star ratings) and then drag/drop the group into Lightroom's import window. eg: 20 photos in group. 6 are starred. Filter for starred. Select the 6. Looks good. But then all 20 show up in Lightroom's import window.

dont drag and drop them, but advice in adobe bridge the file format a certain standard programm to open those.

For example: advice bridge to open arw files with adobe classic lightroom. after filtering the starred photos select them all and hit enter, then the importdialogue will pop up with the selected photos. does this work?
