Question

Very Slow Download

I've been shooting Nikon cameras forever and have never had a problem getting photo's directly from the camera using Bridge, until now.  With my Z7, D800, and older cameras Bridge will find the camera quickly and start the download immediately when I click to start.  With my new D850 I am finding mixed results.  The first time I used Bridge with this new camera everything worked as expected.  The next time, Bridge couldn't find the camera.  Sometimes I have to wait a very very long time for Bridge to recognize the camera.  Sometimes (rarely) it works normally.  Restarting the computer first doesn't seem to make a difference.  It has become faster to just remove the card from the camera and plug it into a card reader.

This behavior is only happening with the D850.  My other cameras work as expected.  So I wonder if anyone else has experienced this same problem or anyone has a recommendation to try.

Thanks,

Yea

I take the card out out of my D850 and copy the contents directly to my hard drive using a card reader.

I don't use photo Bridge downloader. Its to wacky to use.

When files have been confirmed as transfered, put card back in camera and reformat the card in the camera.

File size could have something to do with your issue.

The D 850 has some very big raw files it generates.

File size may have something to do with the problem, but I've been transferring files from me Z7 directly for the past year with no issue at all and it makes files just as big as the D850.  Removing the card is certainly a way to go but not nearly as convenient as directly from the camera.  I hope Adobe puts some resources into updating Bridge to fix these querky problems.
