What happens to the bridge cache/thumbnail if I move the pictures to another folder?

I don't know if the cahce/thumbnail is bound to something like MD5 signature or literally the absolute file path? If it's the latter one, the cache is useless after the picture files are moved? Will bridge remove these invalid cahce away?
