When I try to assign a keyword to a photo, I keep getting "There was an error writing metadata to xxx.jpg"

I am running Windows 10 with 8 GB memory on a lenovo z70.  The photos are on a samsung external HD. I have applied most or all the fixes posted on this forum without success. When I move the photos to the internal HD, I have no problem assigning keywords.

I'm having a similar issue.  The error started for me after updating to the latest version of Bridge (9.0.2.219).  As recently as yesterday (prior to updating Bridge) I did not have this issue.  Now, when connected to a Synology NAS via afp I get errors when trying to write metadata.  I can still write metadata to my local disk.  But can't write metadata to the NAS.  I've tried purging the cache and rebuilding the cache but that hasn't helped.  I've also rebooted the NAS.  Restarted WiFi.  All to no avail.  Was there something in the update to Bridge that would cause this to happen?

I've seen several recent reports of problems with Synology NAS boxes. Have you checked with them to see if they have updated firmware?

Does Adobe monitor this forum cause it looks like Bridge 9.0.2.219 may have introduced some compatibility issues?

Hi Geol,

Sorry to hear that, could you please let us know the version of Bridge you're working on?

Could you please go to Tools > Cache and Purge cache for folder [folder name]

and let us know if it helps?

Regards,
Sahil

I tried another external drive (not the Samsung) and I can attach keywords so the problem is definitely with the Samsung external drive. Any ideas?  Thanks in advance
