Where is the option in the Output tab to convert tiffs to jpgs when exporting to PDF?

I recently discovered that my workflow in Bridge to create approval PDFs in Bridge via the Output tab is NOT converting my layered tiffs into jpgs, but merely flattening them and saving tiffs into enormous PDFs.

I searched in the Output tab for the option to convert tiffs into jpgs but could not find it.

Am I missing something?

Does Adobe expect me to batch save thru the Photoshop image processor function to create a needless folder of jpgs, then run THAT folder thru the Output tab when all I want is for Bridge's Output tab to create approval PDFs (straight from my layered tiffs) that contains reasonalbly sized jpgs and not bloated tiffs?

Who would want tiffs in a PDF?
