I love Adobe, but for the company to have released software like the latest version of Bridge is astounding. I will happily eat crow if the issues I’m having are mine alone, but as best I can determine, this program is now unusable.

Apple M4 MBP - 128 GB - OS Sequoia 15.7.3 -  All I’ve ever needed to do w Bridge is drag a folder of images in and sort them via tags. Sometimes create a contact sheet - in and out, continue my productivity.

Now, images seldom drag and drop. I often have to rename the folder they’re in to something like “To Upload”. I’m option-opening the software continuously to reset it and clear the cache. I’ve adjusted Performance an dFile Handling Preferences multiple times to adjust File Processing Size limits. I’ve disabled startup scripts multiple times.  If I get files loaded in through trial and error, the previews will go away if I apply a tag.

I make my living with Adobe software. When things that used to work simply require multiple workarounds and spending more time researching fixes online than using the program , it’s exhausting.

The CC Cleaner Tool is something that I didn’t know about - very interesting. Thank you for passing it along, Gary.

Hi, @beng97268695, OK, thanks for responding and letting me know you’ve done the basics.

Just so you know, if others were having the same issues as you, these boards would be locked up with the number of folks with equal complaints.

There are two other suggestions I have for you: the easier one is to uninstall Bridge and reinstall Bridge. Actually, this is a double whammy becuase it’s best to uninstall both PS and Bridge because the plugins that give Bridge access to use PS under the Tools menu are placed there by the PS install IF they see Bridge. If Bridge is installed after PS, there is a chance that those functions may not get installed. So, uninstall them both, then reinstall Bridge and then PS.

There is one more thing to try, but it is sort of a cure all:https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/apps/troubleshoot/download-failure/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

I do suggest you read the instructions first, and be sure to click on the Mac OS link (see below).

    Good luck!

Hi, @beng97268695, hmmm, welllll, I think there is something wrong with your application or the Bridge instillation. I’d suggest the first thing you try is to reset the Preferences.

To do this: Quit Bridge if Open. Just before clicking on Bridge in the Dock or double-clicking the application for the Mac, press Command-Option-Shift. For PCs, press Control-Alt-Shift. Then open Bridge, BUT KEEP your fingers on those keys until you see a window pop up. From the window, the options are: “Reset Preferences" and "Purge All Local Cache Files.” In your case, check both of them.

Oh, just to make sure, have you covered all of Bridge’s Privacy and Security settings? Let me know if you need help with that.

Let me know if thigs are working more smoothly after the reset.

    Good luck!

Hi Gary. Thank you for your response!

Unfortunately, I’ve reset the preferences and purged local cache upon starting the application multiple times and the problems persist. I’ve also ensured that Bridge has Full Disk Access within the Privacy & Security settings (forgot to include that in my initial post).

It might be that reinstalling will do the trick. If that doesn’t work, I’m just going to abandon the program in favor of other free or inexpensive software that can do the simple tasks I used to rely on Bridge to execute so I can get along with the meat of my work.
