Why does Bridge in Windows never open and always close Folders?

Not only do the folders NOT automatically open in Windows but if you switch folders to, for example, drag items from one to another, as soon as you switch, the entire tree collapses again!

Bridge on my Mac works perfectly but at work, on Windows, it makes me want to kill somebody.
