Why has Bridge stopped recognizing my camera?

Question

I use a Nikon D600 and usually all I have to do it plug into my Mac -- go into Bridge -- and turn the camera on to get an auto download. Or at most, connect -- go into Bridge -- and click "Get Photos from Camera" from the File drop-down menu -- and I'm off an running. But now Bridge tells me "No Device Found" when I try to connect.

Any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix it?

New versions of Bridge have been poorly designed as upgrades. I was unable to upload CR3 files and now DNG files from a Leica M11 when I got a new iMac with the Apple chip. A long time online and then on the phone finally fixed the CR3 problem. It required loading a beta version of Bridge 2023. I had to go through the same process again to load DNG files from the M11. Oddly I had no problem loading DNG files from a Leica Q2 or loading M11 files into Lightroom. The problems have now been fixed by reloading Bridge 2021. No bugs at all there. Another frustrating change is eliminating JPEG as a save option in Photoshop 2023. I need to do that to send a photo in email. The solution there is to keep Photoshop 2021. But I cannot print from that version on the new Mac. So I save on 2021 then open that photo in 2023 in order to print. Keeping all of this straight is becoming difficult. Why are there so many bugs and seemingly arbitrary changes like no JEPG option?
