How do I uninstall Camera Raw from Creative Cloud in 2026?

Question

I see solutions for prior versions. I’m trying to uninstall the latest Camera Raw (18.2) because it is supposedly a workaround-fix to allow the prior version of Photoshop to open WEBP images like it did just few days ago.

Every solution I have found suggests to click the 3 dots next to Camera Raw in the Creative Cloud desktop app, but those dots do not appear next to Camera Raw. I also could not find the file within the Adobe CC Suite in Finder. I do not have “Bridge” installed either.

I went through the trouble of completely uninstalling Photoshop to try and remove Camera Raw, but no luck.

Appreciate anyone who can provide factual information with clear steps.

Camera Raw cannot be unistalled as a normal programme since it is a plugin.

It can be manually deleted. In Windows you will find it at

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats\Camera Raw.8bi.

I don’t know about Mac systems.

You will no doubt find that Adobe updates will reinstall it!

​@yosuket47961228Lightroom and Lightroom Classic don’t use the plugin, they have their own Camera Raw engine built in.The plugin is for Photoshop and Bridge only.If Denoise in Lightroom Classic doesn’t work, it has nothing to do with what version of the Camera Raw plugin you have installed.I suggest that you create a new post in the Lightroom Classic forum about the issue.Provide details about what happens when you try to denoise an image.Also include your system info as reported by Lightroom Classic.Go to Help > System info, click the Copy button and paste into the reply box.
