Announcing a new feature now in Adobe Camera Raw (17.2) – Removal of Distracting People

Under the Remove dialog, under Distraction Removal, we have added an item called “People”.

This feature supports faster and easier detection and removal of distracting people in an image. It is offered as a Tech Preview in the Adobe Camera Raw Plugin-only and is available now. Please try it out and let us know what works well, what doesn’t work well, and anything that might improve the experience.

Thank you!

Great feature but in images that leave a shadow, the shadow is still there.

Hello, having used this a few times, it seems to only partially work i.e. selects some, but not all people and “parts” of people - an improvement would be the ability for the user to add people (or bits) by selecting via the object tool or similar.

I’ve tried using this feature, It identifies the least intrusive people and leaves the most distracting people. Quite frankly it’s a waste of time.

At times it replaces with unrealistic people, but some times it does a wonderful job.

Trash. Just use the photoshop version and bring it to LR

As others have shared, it replaced the people with worse looking people

Tried it, but it left a ghost of a partial person.  Didn’t work

Earlier it was working better, but recently its replacement is pathetic.

It removed the people it selected, but replaced them with some other person that appears grotesque with weird hands.

I had a photo with 1 person on steps that it found but there were also several people in the back of the photo. Why not have a tool so I can highlight an area to look a little harder for people in that selected area.
