P: Distraction Removal: People (CR & LrClassic)

this misses many people in images. Photoshop is much better

This is very disappointing.  Works pretty well in LRC, the selection was perfect; however, removal of distracting people left a divot that needed fixing so I went to photoshop to do the removal.  The remove tool was completely worthless.  Could not find “distracting people, selected one arm and part of a bed on the opposite side of the image.  Left weird shadows on the wall where the people were, (when people were selected manually) left the same divot in the baby and the selection was horrible when selected using AI.   So I went to camera raw.  Selection was almost as good as LRC; however, it still left a divot in the baby and more weird shadows.  We need a way to add to selection when using this, especially in PS as that was the worst selection.  I guess it’s too much to hope that AI can detect a face and make it round when removing distractions rather than jagged….  I also expected PS to be more seemless in the selection process and it was the most difficult, non-intuitive of all.  I don’t need software that makes life more difficult.

Buongiorno, in camera raw il sistema di riconoscere le persone va perfezionato, a volte non riconosce nessuno . E aggiungo in PS cerotto elimina è troppo lento va migliorato . grazie  

It is not all the way there yet. It misses some people and selects others. The background replacement needs more accuracy. It does seem to pick people only and not other objects though. I like the feature that it removes corresponding shadows. Keep working on accuracy. I know it takes time.

I’ve tried this under preview and best and has not worked on windows in the image and even blurred the full image.  

Nice feature, but leaves a ghost.  Can’t get rid of the ghost with other tools such as clone stamp.  The ghost remains.  Keep at it.  Nice feature once the bugs are out.

Impressed with how it identified & removed the two people who were not the subject on an old digital photo from 2006. The subject was a third person - it made a clean break between the people and filled in the background perfectly. 

Doesn’t select most people and when it selects say 1 of 3 in the background of my subject, I can’t get it to go search again for more.  Need an option to apply to all except subject and then maybe click on ones we don’t want deleted, or click on people it missed.
