For a complete overview of camera support in Photoshop and Lightroom, visit the following article:

Why doesn't my version of Photoshop or Lightroom support my camera?

  1. Make sure your version of Photoshop or Lightroom is updated for the latest camera support.
  2. If you own an older version of Photoshop or Lightroom, Adobe provides backward compatibility for the latest cameras through the FREE Adobe DNG Converter.

Note: ETAs for specific cameras are not available

I understand that Adobe hasn’t caught up but how do you have a codec for raw built with the only option to upscale to TiFF??

I have an angry client and 3600 pictures that are absolutely unusable at this time. These programs all work together so start sharing your software updates sooner.

I agree. Don’t understand why I am paying right now for LR and it doesn’t even solve their issues …

I’m so sorry about this! I’m experiencing the same issue 😭 The photos look terrible when converted to TIFF, and editing them is almost impossible. What’s happening? We invested in new, expensive cameras and still can’t get the quality we expected!

Hi,

I’m experiencing the exact same problem. I’ve already deleted and reinstalled everything from Adobe and tried different computers. At first, I thought the issue was on my end, but then I discovered that a colleague was able to open the images in Sony’s software. However, he also can’t convert them to DNG only to JPEG. The problem is that if I convert them to JPEG, I can no longer properly edit my images.

As a photographer, this is a nightmare. I really hope a solution comes soon because with the latest updates of Lightroom, Photoshop, and Camera Raw, I simply can’t do anything at all.

I hope support can fix this quickly, my clients are waiting for their photos.

The A7V is supported (with limitations) in Lightroom Version 9.1  and Camera Raw 18.1.1

https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

Are you up to date with Lr version?

As users we do not know of camera support releases until they happen.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

Hi, I’m using the Sony A7V, and Lightroom does not recognize the RAW files yet. I’ve already completed three photoshoots, and I’m unable to open the files in Lightroom, which is very frustrating.

At the moment, I have to convert the files to TIFF, but the image quality and workflow are significantly affected.

Could you please let me know when support for the Sony A7V will be added to Camera Raw / Lightroom? This is very important for my work.

Is support planned for the next update?

Would like to know the same thing- it is horrible. Taking me hours and hours to edit and it doesn’t even look right.

I bought 2 weeks ago a new sony A7V - today I photographed shoot and while I came home it noticed that Lightroom doesn't show any color profile of adobe anymore. Also I can’t use my presets on any of the pictures …

Is this something that will be fixed soon?

Hello,

Lightroom Classic (latest version) currently does not support RAW (.ARW) files from the new Sony A7 V.

The files are not corrupted and open correctly in Sony Imaging Edge.
However, Lightroom shows the error:
"The file is not supported or appears to be damaged."

I understand that lossless compressed RAW is already supported in Lightroom for this and other Sony models. Unfortunately, I completed a professional client shoot using compressed RAW files, and currently there is no efficient workflow to process them natively in Lightroom.

As a working professional, official RAW support for the Sony A7 V in an upcoming Camera Raw / Lightroom update would be extremely important.

Please consider adding compatibility as soon as possible.

Could you please confirm whether support is already planned and in which Camera Raw version it might be included?

Thank you & kind regards,

Svenja
