Can do I prevent the Playbar Play button from moving forward for TEB

I am using Captivate 8. I have text entry boxes that will not move to the next slide until the student gets the correct answer.

Here is my problem. When I click the Play button in the Playbar Captivate 8 goes to the next slide even when the text entry box is not filled out.

What should I do to prevent the Play button within the Playbar from going to the next slide until the text entry box is filled out correctly?

Correct answer Lilybiri

Simple answer: you cannot prevent that.

When I wrote this article Challenges for Starters - Captivate blog  in which I claim that mastering the behavior of the Timeline should be priority 1 for Captivate users, that was based on almost 10 years of experiences in this forum. It looks like screaming in the desert, have been writing so much about that TImeline, and presenting as well.

If you have interactive objects with a pausing point that is meant to wait for a learner interaction, you should never use the playbar at all or strip it down totally. The navigation buttons, the play/pause button, the progress bar, all of those elements can override the pausing points and the interactivity of your course. Sorry to insist, but it seems like you belong to that majority of Captivate users who never really understood the functionality of the timeline and that playbar.

Thanks Lilybiri

The what can I do to only allow the play bar to show up on certain slides?

I'm sure there are some actions needed.

Use the On Enter event of the slide, there is a command 'Hide Playbar'. On the slide where you want to show the playbar use 'Show Playbar'.
